A love of art and creativity throughout her childhood and teenage years led Zoe Duthie to apply to leading art college 'Duncan of Jordanstone.'
Originally planning to become an artist or illustrator, Zoe discovered a passion and talent for jewellery design towards the end of her first year of college. The intricate nature of the work and the vast possibilities it offered appealed to Zoe and she specialised in the subject for three years before graduating with an honors degree in 2009. Since graduating and setting up her practice within the same year, Zoe has seen her career go from strength to strength and is enjoying carving out a name for herself within the jewellery industry.
Throughout her time at art college Zoe developed her own feminine style which was influenced by memories, vintage emphemera and sentiment. Zoe has stayed true to these influences since graduating and her work is an eclectic mix of forgotten images, discarded letters and decorative elements. A contemporary approach to jewellery making draws these influences together to create modern day adornments full of history and sentiment.
Zoe works from the antiques and collectables shop 'Woodhead & Sons' within her home town of Forfar in the North East of Scotland. Within these premises Zoe creates and sells her jewellery as well as offering a bespoke commission service for wedding and occassion jewellery. A repair and cleaning service is also available.
Zoe regularly works with individual customers to create one off and personalised commissions using a variety of metals. Please contact Zoe on the address below to discuss having your own piece of Zoe Duthie jewellery created.
